Google, a spanish bank, and the cloud

Google has persuaded Spanish bank BBVA to use it google apps service, 'hosted in the cloud'. This is a major leap for the the cloud. It's actually going to be put to the test on such large scale. According to BBC, "The deal is the biggest that the search giant has signed with one company for its cloud-computing services, where software is offered as a service via the internet." An interesting point to note, though, is that customer data and other key banking systems still stays in the banks data centres and is completely separate from the cloud solution.

iOS 5 on iPad. So far, so good.

Upgrading my iPad to iOS 5 was a snap. Ok. Maybe not all the way. Downloading over 700 megabytes in Nigeria is not fun. It took all night! Where is the broadband here?

The Remote Desktop for Chrome BETA is Google's latest extension for the chrome browser. It allows you to remotely control the desktop on another computer, from your computer through the chrome browser.

It's not iPhone 5. Duh!

Apple announces iPhone 4s and some people I know think iPhone 5 has come. Seriously?! Anyway, Here's what's up: It's iPhone 4s running iOS 5, Apple's latest mobile operating system. You might wonder if it's safe to go out and get an iPhone 4s when iPhone 5 is probably around the corner. Don't worry, it won't be '5' for another year.
